The creation and demise of the theory of evolution

Year	Event
1795	James Hutton publishes the doctrine of uniformity in his publication Theory of the Earth.
1830	Sir Charles Lyell publishes The Principles of Geology: Being an Attempt to Explain the Former Changes of the Earth's Surface, by Reference to Causes now in Operation (i.e. "all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation"). Here Lyell, as Peter prophesied, willingly ignores the flood and assumes that "the present is the key to the past".
1831	Darwin boards the HMS Beagle with his favorite book, Lyell's Principles of Geology.
1859	Darwin publishes The Origin of the Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life.
1922	Evolutionists present Nebraska man, using as their evidence a single tooth. Later, the tooth was found to have come from a pig.
1925	The Scopes Trial: Tennessee vs. John Scopes held in Dayton, Tennessee.
1953	Piltdown man shown to be a fraud by chemical tests. Piltdown man was considered "the fraud of the century".
1961	Creation science revival begins with Morris and Whitcomb publishing The Genesis Flood.
1980	Mount St. Helens erupts and forms a miniature Grand Canyon, showing that geologic formations do not require millions of years, but rather can occur very rapidly -- in less than 24 hours in this case.
1984	The intelligent design movement begins with publication of The Mystery of Life's Origin by Thaxton, Bradley, and Olson.
1986	Professor Michael Denton publishes Evolution: A Theory in Crisis.
1997	Haeckel's embryos are officially declared fraudulent and proved wrong by M. K. Richardson (Richardson et al., "Haeckel, embryos, and evolution", Science 280: 983-984).
2003	Dr. John Baumgardner (revered by U.S. News and World Report as a world expert on planetary mantle dynamics) presents evidence for accelerated nuclear decay rates, showing that radiocarbon dating has been an artifact of uniformitarian assumptions. See GlobalFlood.org for more.
2005	The RATE (Radioisotopes and the Age of the Earth) project is completed, publishing evidence of accelerated nuclear decay, helium diffusion in zircons, and other data supporting a young Earth and Flood timescale.
2005-2018	Dr. John Sanford publishes Genetic Entropy & the Mystery of the Genome (2005/2008) and, with collaborators, releases Mendel's Accountant, a forward-time population genetics simulation showing that deleterious mutations accumulate faster than natural selection can remove them.
2007	Answers in Genesis opens the Creation Museum in Petersburg, Kentucky, presenting a full young-Earth creation narrative with exhibits on Genesis history, the Flood, and dinosaurs living with humans.
2008-present	Growing body of research on residual soft tissues, collagen, and other biomolecules in dinosaur fossils, argued to be inconsistent with multi-million-year ages.
2013-2018	ICR geneticist Dr. Jeffrey Tomkins and others publish analyses showing human-chimpanzee DNA similarity far lower than the commonly claimed ~98% (closer to 80-85%) and refuting the chromosome 2 fusion hypothesis.
2023	At the 9th International Conference on Creationism, ICR presents Continuous Environmental Tracking (CET), a design-based model of biological adaptation offered as an alternative to Darwinian natural selection.
