Covetousness

And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness:
for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things
which he possesseth.
Luke 12:15

What is covetousness?

Covetousness comes from the Greek word "pleonexia"> The BlueLetterBible.org defines this as a:

1) greedy desire to have more, covetousness, avarice
What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid.
Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law:
for I had not known lust, except the law had said,
Thou shalt not covet.
Romans 7:7
Let your conversation be without covetousness;
and be content with such things as ye have:
for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
Hebrews 13:5
But now I have written unto you not to keep company,
if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous,
