What it really means to be a Christian

Please excuse the mess, I am still working on this page. Basically, this will be a summary of C.S. Lewis' Mere Christianity and Collin's Beyond Easy Believism. Christianity is not just going to church on Sunday. It is constantly striving to be like Christ by humbly trusting and obeying.

Solid Intellectualism

One of the chapters in Gary Collins book Beyond Easy Believism, discusses Solid Intellectualism as one of the traits of a serious Christian. He exposes a typical problem that Christians have is that when the questions get tough, they just turn off their brain and say that they believe.

I think that we are responsible for using the brains that God gave us. According to Collins, some of the tough questions that we must have answers for include:

  1. What do I believe in specifically and why?
  2. Does Christianity really make sense?
  3. Can I trust the Bible?
  4. What if I am wrong?
  5. Will Christianity really make a difference in my life?
