dear brother,

I don't know too much.  But in these kind of things sometimes
it is best not to talk too much.  The Bible says:

"let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath;
 for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God."
 James 1:19-20

and above all we should put on love, and treat each other with
love and respect:

"let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things
by which one may edify another."  Romans 14:19

also, it says:

"Let each be fully convinced in his own mind."  Romans 14:5

So sometimes we don't see things eye-to-eye, but God must do the
work.  Our job is only to very gently (1Thess. 2:7) with humility
(2Tim 2:24) show them the truth "if God perhaps will grant them
repentance, so that they may know the truth."  Remember that Jesus
said "without me, you can do nothing."  John 15:5.  God must do the
work.

I remember I used to have e-conversations that were similar to
yours.  They usually ended up causing alot of strife.
God showed me this verse:

"But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes,
knowing that they generate strife."  2Timothy 2:23

So when I talk to people on issues that I know are going to cause
problems, I always try to circumvent disputes.

On the one hand our job is to "preach the word".
At the same time, we are commanded to be slow to speak,
to do everything in love (1Cor 16:14), and to let God
work in there hearts.  We can know and be thankful that
God will discipline His children, when they go astray
(Hebrews 12:6).

One practical way of doing this for me to use the word "we" or "us"
alot.  For example, many times we find that Paul starts off "Let us...".
For example, "let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the
armor of light."  This takes the pressure off the other person
thinking that we are always right, and they are always wrong.
In general, in spiritual matters, as well as all matters of life,
it is prudent to "esteem others better than ourselves".  Philippians 2:3.
Always think that others are doing better than us spiritually.
This will help us to remain humble as we ought to be.
Because if we compare ourselves to Christ, we are all nothing.
And if we ever began to compare ourselves with others, we might
be fooled into thinking we are something, when in reality, we
are nothing.

Remember Jesus prayer for His believers:

"that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You;
that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You
send Me."  John 17:21

So we must work towards unity.  And although there will
always be differences in belief, we must be able in some
way to be unified, despite of the differences.
